So, the manufacturer times the bike out at 5 years/18 or 19k miles. This is a first. As a Commercial Pilot, I am very familiar with items with a specific life time, either in years or hours. But on a motorcycle? It's pretty obvious -any- vehicle is built with a life-duration in mind. Of course, it's not because they won't last longer, but because they don't -want- it to last longer. They want you to go out and buy another one. Kind of like a BIC pen - when the ink is gone, toss it out. No refills. Just go get another one.

Of course, this logic is flawed with vehicles that cost thousands of dollars. Rings, valves, gaskets, etc. are cheaper than buying a new bike every 5 years. Besides, some of us get rather attached to our older bikes, especially after we customize them.

So, in the interest of the environment, and just being an all around good guy, when all of you Savage riders have reached Suzuki's time limit, please ship your worn out bike to me and I promise I'll properly dispose of them. :: heavy sarcasm ::
